Metal Fixed braces are traditionally known as ‘train-tracks’. They are the most common type of braces used for children but can be used for adults. They are made of high-grade stainless steel and they straighten teeth by using archwires and brackets.
Metal Fixed braces are the standard type of brace available on the NHS for patients under 18 years old who qualify for treatment based on the Index of Orthodontic Treatment Need (IOTN).
