Orthodontic Emergencies

Serious orthodontic emergencies are uncommon. However, it is better to know what to do just in case. If your brace breaks please contact the practice as soon as possible for advice.

IN THE MEANTIME:

• If part of your fixed brace breaks and causes irritation or rubbing, then apply some wax over the area to make it smoother.
• If your removable brace breaks do not wear it if it is uncomfortable or at risk of being dislodged.
• During an emergency visit, we will make your brace comfortable but may require another visit to repair it.
